Creative Alliance Project announces fall programming for Living A Creative Life. An uplifting and entertaining series of group explorations into many forms of creativity and art led by accomplished professionals in visual art, the written word, music, acting, applied arts and more. “Living A Creative Life” is an ongoing program for adults designed in partnership with (KVIS) the town of Bedford Recreation Department, the Bedford Hills Free Library and Katonah Space. We invite all community members to bring their talents, their passions and their voices as potential presenters; helping us creatively build bridges to every member of our diverse community. Creativity is our birthright and our purest impulse. We aspire to reignite that spark in everyone, finding inspiration and hope together.

If you’re an art school graduate looking for a spark or if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush, Jason will get you painting on canvas in minutes. You’ll love how abstract paintings can be an expression of your feelings in this fun environment. Your creativity will soar. 18 – senior. Materials provided.

October 15 from 10 am to 12:30 pm: “Discover Your Inner Songwriter” Presenters: Michael Minard , master composter and Phyllis Ross, master teacher. This collaborative workshop requires no musical experience. Led by Michael and Phyllis, we will become a small community of songwriters making lyrics and melody from a mix of our ideas and experiences. Writing together and listening to each other’s words, we take lines and phrases that magically find their way into the music and lyrics of a wonderful song. You’ll be amazed at how much fun this technique is!
October 22 from 10 am to 12:30 pm: ” The Art Of Sashiko” Presenter: Arlete Chaves, master quilter and designer . Have fun transforming your old shirts and jeans into works of art; or use the fabrics we provide. Sashiko is a Japanese form of decorative stitchery that is simple to do with effects that are striking and lively. The only things you’ll need to bring are a good pair of scissors to create your own beautiful functional bag (or, if you wish, a piece of your own clothing to decorate.)

October 29 from 10 am to 12:30 pm: “The Fearless Poet” Presenter: Leslie Bijoux, Artist, poet, creator. Are you intimidated by the idea of writing poetry? Do you feel like you have things to say, but don’t know where to start? Leslie will quiet your inner critic through easy discussion and writing exercises guaranteed to make you fall in love with words, and turn your feelings into beautiful poetry.
November 19 from 10 am to 12:30 pm “Monoprinting Madness” Presenter: Leslie Bijoux, mad scientist and art explorer. Set your creativity and playful self free with this fun, easy-to-learn process. Once you start, you won’t want to stop. With Leslie’s gentle guidance using a few simple tools, you’ll create beautiful images, patterns, and textures with paint on paper. We’ll supply all the materials you need. Bring your painting clothes and play!
