The Katonah Village Improvement Society (KVIS) is an organization of neighbors working together to cultivate Katonah’s unique character and community. Active for approximately 140 years, KVIS is one of the longest, continually operating community groups in the nation. It has helped to foster Katonah’s strong sense of community spirit, a responsibility towards caring for our picturesque village and a respect for our village’s rich historical past.
Throughout the year, KVIS organizes inter-generational cultural and educational events to enrich the lives of Katonah residents and visitors and to improve and beautify our community environment. KVIS also works on projects to preserve Katonah’s unique historic character.
KVIS is an all-volunteer community organization. We meet regularly to generate ideas and events to enhance our community. The Board meets at 7:30pm in the Katonah Village Library on the fourth Monday of every month, with no meetings in December, July or August.
Please come to our meetings – they are open to the public and we welcome your ideas and suggestions for making Katonah an even more vibrant, beautiful, walkable, livable and enjoyable community for our residents, businesses and visitors!
