Katonah in Bloom – A Botanical Beauty Contest

KVIS is pleased to partner with the Katonah Chamber of Commerce in the perpetual promotion of our hamlet’s horticultural possibilities! On the KVIS Clean up Day, Saturday, May 5th, we will launch Operation KATONAH IN BLOOM: A Botanical Beauty Contest that will involve a monthly flower box contest among the businesses in the hamlet.

Katonah in Bloom will bring attention to our local businesses with beautiful window boxes and planters.

The contest will begin on May 5th  (at the KVIS Spring Clean Up Day and Plant Sale) and end September 8th (KVIS K5K Race). Perennial Gardens in Bedford Village is sponsoring the event and offering discounts to merchants on plants and supplies for their store planters and window boxes. The community will join in and vote monthly on the most stunning planter or window box in front of a downtown Katonah store.

There will be four monthly winners (May, June, July and August) and one grand prize winner awarded at the K5K in September. So there will be monthly chances to vote or be in the running!

Support Katonah’s Downtown Garden Project!

KVIS-Phase2-1KVIS is growing a beautiful garden in downtown Katonah and we need your help to expand it! Last fall KVIS completed the first of a three phase project to create a native pollinator garden at the north end of Katonah Avenue by the train station. Since then, commuters, shoppers, diners and strollers have been enjoying a spectacular display of flowers, shrubs and trees. KVIS donated the entire $12,000 needed to make Phase One a reality.

Now it’s time to plant phase two and we need your help!

KVIS has pledged $10,000. We are seeking donations from the community to raise the additional $10,000 needed to complete Phase Two. Please contribute. Your generous tax deductible donations will be used for trees, shrubs, grasses and flowering plants that will enhance the beauty and charm of our vibrant hamlet!
